SIP Trunking provides the ability to make and receive telephone calls over the internet. Within the next 10 years, it is estimated that 90% of telephone calls world wide will be made over the internet.

SIP (Session Internet Protocol) is the leading world wide internet protocol for establishing and maintaining multi-party, mixed media sessions over converged networks.  SIP enables the creation and deployment of feature rich services that go far beyond simple VoIP calls.  Microsoft instant messaging and the G3 GSM network are both based on SIP and SIP trunking has the full backing of Ofcom (the telecommunications governing body) which has allowed more flexibility compared to the present voice networks.

Traditionally VoIP calls have suffered from poor reliability, voice latency and poor connectivity with mobile phones.  We can offer Quality of Service on VoIP using SIP trunks and can therefore guarantee call quality with full SLAs.  This can be provided on our MPLS network which is gaining great favour with customers who can combine many data and voice features on one, cost effective and secure network.

Where once all that was available for voice traffic were ISDN lines and expensive leased lines today we can provide SIP trunks as a low cost alternative yet still deliver the functionality normally associated with a fixed line service.  DDI ranges and number portability are essential and when you add to this the free 'on net' calls to say home workers or remote branches and significantly reduced termination charges we believe the proposition for customers is fantastic.
