Aldermore Bank Selects NetworkFlow MPLS Solution to Power New Network

12/08/2011

Aldermore Bank today announces that it has chosen NetworkFlow to install a private MPLS network to link 4 of its regional offices including its main datacentre. The MPLS solution, delivered at a very competitive price point,  gives Aldermore the high speed site-to-site connectivity that is essential to enable modern banking.

Aldermore Bank was formed through the merger in 2009 of Ruffler Bank Plc and Base Commercial Mortgages Ltd. Aldermore’s business is based on a traditional banking model: they raise deposits from consumers and lend to homeowners and small to medium sized businesses throughout the UK.

The bank operates in a dynamic marketplace, as Nick McAvoy, head of IT infrastructure, explains:

“Aldermore is striving to be the SME bank of choice, providing asset finance and commercial mortgages. Fast, reliable connections between our Peterborough headquarters and our national network of offices are therefore essential. We selected NetworkFlow because they are a no-nonsense ISP – open, transparent and easy to do business with. They were able to provide compelling pricing and rapid turnaround times, making the process simple for us as their customer. NetworkFlow is helping us to stay ahead of the competition technologically and we look forward to working with them in the future to enhance our digital environment.”

David Alexander, director of NetworkFlow, comments:

“Aldermore told us that our personal approach differentiated us from our competitors, but the solution fit had to be right too. Increasingly, banks like Aldermore are taking advantage of our wide range of access technologies, combined with our product flexibility, to deliver the best solution to their customers. Wayleaves and excess construction charges are becoming ever more prevalent, thus delaying network deployment. Our choice of delivery methods and carrier partners allow us to provide a timely delivery of the MPLS network.”
